The Merry-Go-Round and Beach Operating Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of bathing beach and associated cabanas, lockers, decks and rental equipment, as well as the historic Flying Horse Merry-Go-Round, for the Watch Hill Fire District during the summer season, with limited pre-season duties required April-June.
Duties include developing rate structure and operating budgets; recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling and supervising staff; marketing and sales of seasonal rental packages and daily admission; maintaining the physical facilities, and interacting with residents and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner. The Operating Manager is responsible for protecting and preserving the historic MGR, prioritizing the safety of the children riding the horses, and managing beach capacity and security.
Preferred Qualifications/ Experience:
- Background in management of hospitality or amusement assets
- Strong team building expertise
- Track record of optimizing efficiency and profitability
- Experience with budgeting, POS software and payroll processing
Merry-Go-Round and Beach Operating Manager is a seasonal, exempt position; Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.
