Residential trash pickup in the Watch Hill Fire District is “backyard” service.  The contractor, Sam Piccolo, Jr. and Sons Inc. Rubbish Removal, collects trash and recyclable materials from your property, not at the curb. Please be sure Piccolo has unencumbered access to your trash area through your driveway on pickup days, no later than 8:00 am,  to avoid experiencing delays and missed pickups.

Pick Up Days:

  • Monday and Friday — Trash
  • Wednesday — Recyclables

In the event a holiday falls on a collection day, trash collection may continue, subject to constraints including transfer station availability. Trash and Recycling that does not happen on the holiday will resume the following work day.

Non-recyclable Trash must be placed in Town of Westerly orange garbage bags, which may be purchased at grocery and other retailers.  Please secure filled orange bags inside an enclosure or lidded receptacle to keep animals out.

Recyclables must be in a container clearly marked for recyclables.  Glass, paper, cans and plastics may be commingled.  Cardboard boxed must be broken down or they will not be picked up.

Please be sure to share this information with any guests or tenants residing at your property.

If you have any questions or concerns, please text Steve Piccolo at 401-954-2715 or use this form.
